Delaney's 2 Year Stats.

As I mentioned yesterday, on Delaney's birthday we went to see Dr. Shepherd at Children's Clinic East. This was the first time we checked out their brand new building, and it is nice! We got to get Delaney all checked out, measured & weighed. She is a perfect, healthy, growing girl.

She could do just about every item on the 2 year checklist, although we are still working on things like using utensils ALL the time and drinking out of a cup with no lid. Delaney is eating out of a booster seat now, and only wears a bib when she eats really messy items like "yogret."

When they asked if she could say 25 words, we laughed. If you know Delaney, then you know why. We've been blessed with a very wordy girl (a chip off the old block). The nurse asked if she could name a few body parts and I said she could. She asked how many - 1 or 2? I said about 10-15. Just as she raised her eyebrow at me, the other nurse gave her a bandaid for her fingerprick, and she promptly replied "Look at my bandaid. It's on my ring finger. Thumb, pointer, middle finger, ring finger, PINKIE!" We had to smile.

Delaney is 36 3/4 inches tall, way off the growth chart. She is about the 95 percentile for a 3 year old. Woah! I have heard you get your height from your mother's fathers, so she has her tall Pop to thank for that. She is 33.9 lbs, which is also off the charts for her age, but with her being so tall, this is perfectly normal for her. She has a healthy BMI and while she loves treats, she gets them sparingly and is a great healthy eater. She loves milk and water, and so far that is all she drinks. I love that she asks for water and says its delicious! Having a healthy eater is very important to us.

We are so blessed to have such a healthy daughter. She looked great all over, and the doctor didn't have any notes for us. At our request, we are moving her to skim milk from whole (less fat, and we can all drink the same kind now!) We are very thankful for our girl and for a place where we can get excellent medical care. I pray that she stays healthy all year, and we don't see the doctor again until flu shot season!
